A small, specific tool from a small software company
RuntimeClear is a product of Tech Build Dreams LLC. It does one job: find the Oracle Java that creates license exposure, and show how to replace it.
Why this exists
Oracle's Java license terms change by release, not by product name. Oracle JDK 8 is free up to 8u202 and under OTN from 8u211. Every Oracle JDK 11 build is OTN. Oracle JDK 17 switched at 17.0.13. Oracle JDK 21 switches with the October 2026 Critical Patch Update. A version string decides the answer, and those version strings are spread across servers, laptops, container images and CI files.
When a company receives questions from Oracle about its Java use, someone on the infrastructure team has to produce that inventory, usually with find, registry queries and a spreadsheet. RuntimeClear turns that into a script you can read, a JSON file per host and a report that explains each finding with a link to Oracle's own page.
How we build it
- Read-only and offline. The scanner doesn't connect to anything or change anything. The report runs in your browser.
- Cited, dated rules. Every classification points at an Oracle page and the date it was checked. When the facts are unclear, the finding says needs review instead of guessing.
- No inflated claims. An installed NFTC build does not become paid, and we won't say it does. We don't publish testimonials, customer logos or usage counters we can't back up.
- Independent. We aren't affiliated with Oracle and don't resell Oracle licenses or any JDK vendor's support.
Who builds it
Luis S. Ramos, founder of Tech Build Dreams LLC. Software engineer. Six years at a US B2B SaaS company: iOS (2019–2021), then backend Java, Spring and AWS (2021–2025). Those backend years were spent building Java and Spring services, the same ecosystem this product inventories.
